February 7, 2018

Welcome to Bake Squad 5!

Hope you all are ready to bake this Valentine's day special recipe with us!

Brace yourselves because we will be baking the BEST Dark Chocolate mud cake recipe this week! That’s quite a claim, we know. But we're sure you too will feel the same once you try this recipe. It doesn’t matter if you’re a baker, a cake decorator or a beginner in baking. This is the only chocolate cake recipe you’ll ever need!

What makes this cake special is that, it is

✅ Dense,

✅ Fudgy,

✅ Chocolaty, with the right amount of sweetness,

✅ Works great under fondant,

✅ Sturdy enough for tiered cakes,

✅ Tastes great on its own. Pairs well with ganache & buttercream,

✅ Has an incredible shelf life of up to 7 days at room temperature.

That ticks all the boxes for us!

This cake has convinced us to end our chocolate cake recipe hunt. We're sure it will help you too.

Now go bake this for your loved ones and make their day!

NOTE

  • Use the best quality dark chocolate you can find. (50% - 60% cocoa content)

  • If you are using microwave for melting chocolate, be careful not to burn it.

  • It is absolutely okay for mud cakes to crack on top. You can level the cake before frosting using a serrated knife.

  • The cake will be soft when it is out of the oven. It will become firmer as it cools down. Let the cake cool in the pan for 30 mins.

  • Once cooled, cling wrap and store at room temperature. Refrigerate or freeze for later use.

  • ALWAYS bake this cake at least two days before the event. The flavour matures over time.

  • Frosting option: Simple dusting of icing sugar / Buttercream / Chocolate ganache.
